Preliminary Examination
The Prelims is an objective-type screening test with two papers. Only Paper I marks determine the cut-off; Paper II (General Aptitude Test) is qualifying. There is 1/4th negative marking for wrong answers.
Main Examination
The Mains examination is descriptive with 8 papers. The Hindi paper is qualifying; the remaining 7 papers count toward merit. Two GS papers are specific to Uttarakhand.
Interview
The interview assesses the candidate's personality, general knowledge, and suitability for administrative roles in the Uttarakhand state government.
