Preliminary Examination
The Prelims is an objective-type screening test with two compulsory papers. Only Paper I marks determine the cut-off; Paper II (CSAT) is qualifying with a 33% threshold.
Main Examination
The Mains examination is fully descriptive with **8 compulsory papers** – all count toward merit. It includes a Hindi paper, an Essay paper, and six General Studies papers (two of which are specific to Uttar Pradesh).
Interview
The interview tests the candidate's personality, general awareness, and suitability for administrative roles in the state government.
