The Prelims is an objective-type screening test. Only Paper I marks are used for cut-off; Paper II (CSAT) is qualifying with a 33% threshold.
The Mains examination is descriptive and tests in-depth knowledge. It has 9 papers – 2 qualifying language papers and 7 merit-ranking papers (Essay + 4 GS + 2 Optional).
